The Ultimate Eagle Experience…a day that will simply never be forgotten!!
This experience starts at 10:15am where one of our bird staff will meet you and invite you into the shop where a complementary hot drink and biscuits will be provided, this gives you the opportunity to ask questions or queries that you may have before the experience takes place.
We will then start your experience; you will be taken into our flying arena where you will be met by the rest of the bird staff that will be taking your experience. The centre will be closed to the public, this means that all focus and attention is given to you and the group throughout the day.
While we warm our hands and finish our drinks, we will have the opportunity to watch the male Stellers Sea Eagle soar high over the stunning North Yorkshire scenery while we will have a quick introduction from one of our skilled bird handlers.
You will be equipped with your own gauntlet and arm guard giving you the sufficient protection against the talons of these powerful raptors.
The session starts with the opportunity to handle one of our more exotic species of eagle and one of our most powerful species. You will have the chance to take close-up pictures and will also be able to admire the true beauty of these magnificent predators. We will then walk onto our flying arena where the action takes place starting with flying a smaller raptor to ensure that everyone in the group is happy and confident in handling these powerful eagles.
We then move onto flying a selection of our smaller eagles, gradually increasing in size. To finishing our morning session with these majestic birds, we conclude with flying a Golden Eagle, a truly iconic species and a real thrill to have flying to your gloved hand.
At 12:30pm will then break for lunch and retreat to our shop where the heating will be on and a light lunch of warm soup, rolls and cake is provided however, feel free to bring your own lunch if you wish and please join the group for a warmup. (Tea and coffee will be provided)
At 1:00pm our afternoon session commences. In this session you will fly more eagles one of which being a White-Tailed Eagle, Europe’s largest species of eagle with a whopping eight-foot wingspan!! You will soon realise why the nickname flying barn door was given.
You will then be given the once in a lifetime opportunity of flying the heaviest species of eagle in the world. The mighty Steller’s Sea Eagle weighing 16lbs (7.5KG) a truly memorable moment and sure to get your adrenaline pumping. This is sure to be a moment and experience to tick off your bucket list.
If this wasn’t enough, we then situate the group looking over our beautiful valley and the River Wiske, where we then conclude the days flying with our “Eagle Valley Flight”. This gives you the opportunity to watch the iconic Bald Eagle that is also known as the American national symbol. The eagle will soar high above the valley before stooping swiftly to your gloved hand, making a truly unforgettable moment.
There is only one thing left to do to make this the ultimate eagle experience, we will round up this ultimate experience with what we like to call “the ring of death”. A selection of the eagles that you have handled and flown will be assembled into a semicircle giving you the chance to take one last memento picture of you amongst these encradle, powerful and majestic raptors.

- The Centre is closed to the public so it’s a nice intimate group.
- Max 5 people flying on the Eagle Experience.
- Restricted to one or possibly two spectators on request and MUST be pre-booked.

- Due to the physical nature of this experience you must be able to hold 16lb in weight in your left hand unassisted and be able bodied.
- Birds may change on the day due to weather conditions.
